Prices start from £80. This is for a stump with a diameter of 20cm or less, with no access issues and within 5 miles of the business address. The final price depends on stump size, access, location and whether waste removal is required.
Not always. In most cases, we can provide a quote from a clear photo and a few other details.
Please send a clear photo of the stump, the diameter of the stump at the widest point, postcode, and details of the narrowest access point, including gates, steps, slopes or tight corners. Also include if you know of any underground services such as, electric cables, gas or water pipes, telecommunications or irrigation systems. If you are unsure please let us know and we will advise you of the best course of action.
Stump grindings are usually left to back fill the hole created from grinding out the stump. They can also be used as a mulch on garden beds or a weed suppressor. If you would like them removed this can be arranged at an additional cost and included in your quote.
In most cases, yes. This is why we ask for the narrowest access point, and if steps, slopes or tight corners are present. These measurements help us to assess which machine will be suitable for your access requirements.
Typically stumps are ground to approximately 300mm below ground level. The exact depth will also be limited by the surrounding ground levels around the stump, any obstructions or underground services present or what the area will be used for after.
Stump grinding removes the visible stump to below ground level. It does not remove the entire root system although surface roots may be reduced where required.
